We need your help! The Selwyn Celebrates the Arts committee needs volunteers to hang artwork in preparation for the big event. We need volunteers all week, so please check your schedule and lend a hand. Sign up available here.

Selwyn Book Fair Coming April 22-25
The Book Fair is almost here! Stock up for summer reading! You may shop the Book Fair with your child, or your child may purchase books on the day their class visits.
Book Fair Hours:
Tuesday, April 22: 12:00 - 2:30 pm
Wednesday, April 23: 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
Thursday, April 24: 7:30 am - 2:30 pm & 4:30 - 8:30 pm
Friday, April 25: 7:30 am - 12:00 pm

Spread the Word! Beginners' Day is Friday, April 25. Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers Needed!
The Prospective Parents Committee needs volunteers for Beginners' Day on Friday, April 25 from 8:30-11:00. Volunteers will assist in welcoming incoming kindergarteners and their parents to Selwyn on this very special morning and help the parent and rising-K portions of the program run smoothly that day. To volunteer, please email Anne Lam. The committee needs 8 to 10 additional volunteers.
Calling all rising kindergarteners!
Please share this information with friends and neighbors who have rising K's. If you (or they) have already enrolled a rising K but did not receive an invitation to Beginners' Day, please let us know ASAP! Click here to email the Prospective Parents Committee for event details and provide the child's name so we can plan for them.

Selwyn School Leadership Team [SLT] Parent Nominees: 2014-2017
There are 12 Selwyn staff members and 12 Selwyn parents on the SLT. Parents serve for three year terms. This year, we have 4 parent spots to fill on the SLT. You will have the opportunity to elect 4 parents to the SLT at the General PTA meeting on April 24. Read to Achieve Information Meeting - April 21
All parents are invited to attend a Read to Achieve meeting on Monday, April 21 from 7:00-8:30 pm at AG Middle School. Rob Bryan, State Senator, and Dr. Bruce Taylor, an education professor at UNCC, will be there to provide information regarding testing and to answer any questions. For more information, please contact Beth Stephenson. This is not a Selwyn PTA sponsored event.

Earth Day Caps Collection Contest - April 22 & 23
Save your plastic caps for the grade-level cap recycling contest coming April 22 & 23. Eligible caps are rigid plastic caps (sometimes noted with a 5 in the chasing arrows recycling symbol) that twist on with a threaded neck such as caps on shampoo, water, pharmaceutical lids, food product bottles (ie, ketchup), and some jar lids such as peanut butter.
